Story

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS SPONSORED ME SO FAR. THIS MEANS SO MUCH PERSONALLY TO ME AND THE SPONSORSHIP YOU HAVE PROVIDED WILL REALLY HELP SO MANY PEOPLE LIVING WITH CANCER.

I am running the London Marathon on 25th April 2010, almost two years to the day I finished my last session of chemotherapy.

Looking at me now you would never know that I am a cancer survivor and whilst recovery post chemo has been a long and, at times, arduous journey this will be an important milestone to celebrate my return to health.

It's also time to give back to one of the charities that have personally helped me and thousands of other people affected by cancer.

Penny Brohn Cancer Care provides complementary care, working alongside the medical treatment, and has developed a programme for people affected by cancer, now known worldwide as the Bristol Approach, through a range of therapeutic courses and information services.

This holistic approach to health transforms peoples lives through giving people practical tools to improve their daily quality of life and helping to take the fear out of cancer.

£30 pays for free information and help packs for 20 newly diagnosed people with cancer (for those in my office, mine is on my desk) whilst £1,500 means that someone affected by cancer can benefit from a two day residential course at the Penny Brohn Cancer Care centre in Bristol.

UPDATE 26/01/10 - 17 mile training run around Richmond Park last Sunday and still feeling the pain!!!

FURTHER UPDATE 9/4/10 - final 2 weeks and tapering now after Exe to Axe race last Sunday, 20.3 miles along South West Coastal Path in Devon with over 4,000 feet of elevation!!! Completely mad but I managed to finish in 4hours and 40 minutes even after twisting my ankle at around mile 11.
