The Hard Hat Challenge: To help build two family houses in Comanesti in Romania for mentally and physically handicapped young people who in 1998 were found in terrible conditions, malnourished and severely neglected, in one of the worst of the Romanian orphanages. They have now grown into lovely young adults, and the “Hard Hat Challenge” is a project to build additional accommodation to meet their current needs.

The founder of the charity ‘Cry in the Dark’, Steve Cooper, promised to look after them for the rest of their lives. We want to help him keep that promise!

Any money we can raise above the required minimum will go towards a medical centre needed for the poor and elderly who live on that side of town.

Update September 2009 : - Thanks to all our supporters - and much hard labour! - the new building work looks fantastic and is now water- and wind-proof, but the insides are yet to decorated and fit to live in - so we urgently need funds to finish! Please help us!
