Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

We’re the National Deaf Children’s Society. We're the charity for deaf children with any level of hearing loss. Whatever the question or challenge, we’ll help find a way through. We believe in a world where anything is possible for deaf children.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Three years ago in a moment of madness a number of us decided that it would be a good idea to run the Blackpool Half Marathon to raise money for the Neonatal unit at Leeds General Infirmary, after they had taken such good care of my son who was born 15 weeks premature.  Somehow I managed to go from couch to 13.1 miles in 8 weeks and finished in 2 hours 18 minutes!!!  At some point the running bug snuck up on me and the next year I was back at Blackpool (this time on my own) to beat my impressive record!  After a few more half marathons another moment of madness struck and lo and behold the London Marathon is my next challenge. This time I am running in support of the NDCS as they provide support for Evan, my son, who is deaf. I hope you agree that this is a much needed charity which aims to give every deaf child a brighter future.

Also please visit my blog at www.daveslondonmarathon.blogspot.com it will tell you every painful minute of the training.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The National Deaf Children's Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Thanks, Dave.
