I am traveling to Cascais in Portugal on 4th July to compete in the IFDS World Multihull Championships.  This will take place over 5 days, with 11 races in total.

I am 15 years old and was born with the condition Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita which means multiple joint contractures.  In my case it limits the use of my lower limbs.  I found sailing when I was 9, and started at the Barnet Youth Base being introduced to BTYC Sailsports a couple of years later.  It was at BTYC (an RYA certified voluntary racing and training club) where I learnt to sail the Challenger - a fast but stable boat specifically designed for people with physical constraints. Last year I was selected by the RYA to train with the Transition Squad and hope to compete in the 2012 Paralympics.

Sailing gives me a sense of freedom, I am the same as everyone else when I am on the water - it is my passion.  I can only thank RYA Sailability for supporting the clubs where I sail enabling me and others like me to learn and love to sail.
