On the 12th-21st September of this year I’ll be embarking on a hike in the mountains of Peru, raising money for Whizz-Kids; a charity that provide mobility equipment, advice and training to disabled children and their families.

Since setting up in 1990, Whizz-Kidz have changed the lives of over 4500 young people across the UK.  They help to provide the mobility equipment that disabled children need to enjoy a more active and independent childhood.  They offer support, advice and training to young people and their families; and are actively campaigning to ensure that all disabled children have access to the right mobility equipment at the right time.

Where am I going and what will I be doing?

The challenge begins with a flight out to Lima and then onto Cuzco, where myself and other members of the team will acclimatise to the conditions before setting out on the main trail which will take us all the way to Machu Picchu.My fundraising target is £2750; and although this is an ambitious goal, with your help and support I hope I can get there.  I’ve contributed £350 of my own money to kick things off, and I’ll be organising a number of fundraising events, car boot sales, raffles etc over the coming months to raise as much money as I can.
