Story

It seemed like a good idea at the time....

How many of us have said that? Well we did as we popped the kayak down in the Grand Union Canal one evening after work, in the dark with water cold enough to freeze the proverbials off!

We have taken on a major challenge, for those of you who are not familiar with the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race it is over a 125mile long course starting in Devizes, Witshire and ending at Westminster Bridge in Central London.

We have entered the K2 Senior class which effectively means we will be doing it non-stop starting on Easter Saturday and finishing sometime Easter Sunday.

To give you an idea of the size of the challenge take a look at a report of the event from last year by clicking this link:

To encourage us in this mammoth challenge we would be very grateful if you would consider sponsoring us. Our chosen charity is the Pepper Foundation (you can find out more by following the link on this page). It's a local charity to us and does great work.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Pepper Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So if you are impressed, think we are mad or totally disbelieving (or all of the above) please do sponsor us!

Many thanks

David Richardson and Max Hayden

The Pepper Foundation funds Hospice at Home care for children in Bucks and Herts. We believe that during this terribly frightening and difficult time, children and their families should be given the choice to be cared for at home, surrounded by the people and belongings they love.
