Our long weekend trek begins in Sicily's famed ancient town of Taormina. From we will head to Mt. Etna, the largest volcano in Europe, standing at about 11,000 feet.
We spend two days trekking 35kms per day and discovering the Pista Altomontana, the circular path around Mt. Etna. This serves as the warm up for our main challenge (great!) as after the Pista Altomontana you will commence an 8 hour trek take from 1,800m to 2,500m and continue to trek to the top of Mt. Etna at 3350m the following day.
