Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I intend to run my first marathon in London on Sunday April 13th. At the age of 58 it is time I gave something back to people who are less healthy than myself.

I have chosen the Cardiomyopathy Asociation. Cardiomyopathy is a genetic disease which is one of the most common causes of sudden death in young people. It is the disease which took my wife Moira's two brothers when aged 15 and 33.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cardiomyopathy Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

To encourage you to support me I promise to add 10% to the total donation. To encourage me to train hard and turn out in the wind and rain/snow  5 or 6 days a week if I fail to run under 4hrs 10 mins (about 9.5 minute/mile or 6 min /kms) another  5% will be added.

Many thanks for your support

David
