Well, 'tis done !!!
Let me say a massive THANKYOU to everyone who has sponsored me . The target set by Action Against Hunger was £2,000 and thanks to the generosity of so many people, this has been exceeded .In fact, when Gift Aid is taken into account on both on-line and off-line donations, the total that you have raised is a whopping £2,762 !!! Brilliant-thank you !!!
The day itself proved to be very memorable. In warm and sunny conditions i found it very hard work and was a little dissapointed to find myself labouring under the effects of hiccups from about halfway (Yes-hiccups! ,not cramp or dehydration -hiccups!!!).Hence my projected finishing time , a new world record of just under two hours, turned into a more sedate 4 hours 50 minutes ! My main memory from the day is of the fantastic support and encouragement given by the London people-they were amazing !
