A cafe for homeless and vulnerably-housed people aged 25+ in the centre of Oxford. Open six days a week in the early evening. We provide a wide range of support services and advice as well as simple, nutritious food and drink. In other words, a community centre for those who have no community.

Story

From mid-July to mid-September, I'm going to try to walk from Land's End in the southwest of Britain to John o' Groats in the northeast. In the process, I'd like your help to raise money for The Gatehouse, an Oxford-based organization that I've worked with over the last year-and-a-bit.

The Gatehouse is a drop-in cafe that welcomes homeless people and provides a place where dignity, companionship and refreshment can be found in a warm and safe environment.  The project is having to move out of its current building and will be moving to a new home in St Giles’ parish rooms, where the charity started up over 20 years ago.  But before moving in, the building has to be totally renovated. The Gatehouse has launched an appeal to cover the necessary renovations, adaptations, moving and rental expenses. The cost of the move will be around £175,000. My aim is to raise 1% of that total.

Why not take a look at the Gatehouse blog: you'll find news, photos, and updates on the Moving Home appeal. Just visit www.gatehousemovinghome.blogspot.com

Thank you for helping the Gatehouse to move home.
