FareShare redistributes good-to-eat, surplus food, which would otherwise go to waste, to 8,000 local charities and community groups across the UK. But our charities are facing unprecedented demand for food. Join our fight against hunger and food waste. Support FareShare today.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

The majority of us take for granted that we have the good fortune of enjoying at least 2 square meals a day. There are those in our communities however that don't.... instead they are a statistic of food poverty. Hard to believe that food poverty is still an issue in modern Britain.

On the 9th May I'll be supporting Fareshare, a registered charity who are working to relieve food poverty in our poorest communities. Please visit their website. http://www.fareshare.org.uk

To support Fareshare I'm pleased to be taking part in an 11 mile sponsored trek that will see me and my fellow trekers ascend 3284ft to the peak of Sca Fell Pike in the Lake District. It will be 6 hours of thigh busting calf aching agony so PLEASE SPONSOR ME.

The funds raised will go to FareShare Manchester branch who distribute “in date food” to needy people and charitable institutions through a really deprived part of East Manchester. It is amazing to see the hard work and dedication put in by the team of volunteers that work at the FareShare Manchester depot – a really worthwhile cause that does not get a great deal of publicity but is very well deserving charity. Please help me to help them and meet my target.

Please help me to achieve my target, which Cargill have agreed to match fund every pound we make as individuals. We hope to get some 70 to 80 people to do the walk and raise a meaningful sum to allow FareShare to continue supporting the needy around Manchester.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: FareShare gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

For all donations, please enter a comment starting 'Ref: Manchester' to ensure the funds are directed to the Manchester arm of Fareshare. Thank you again.
