Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.Huntington's Disease (HD): is a nasty hereditary, degenerative Brain Disorderwhich has No Cure.
As brain cells die HD slowly takes away a person's ability to walk, talk, think and reason.
Eventually, a person becomes totally dependent upon others for her / his care, while being fully aware of their decline.
All Races, Females, Males and Children are suffering through HD on average of 15-20 years.
HD is a family disease, which means, if a parent has HD then All the children are "at risk" of having the disease. When 1 parent has HD, then many of the children will suffer from HD "at the same time" during their lives together, leaving no-one to care for each of them destroying the family unit.
Huntingtons is in my wife's side of the family. Her mum has it and she could have it which means my kids could have it. Without SHA there would be nowhere to get help and advice for people living with HD. I'm hoping to raise money and awareness for a great charity who I may turn to one day for help.
I'm running the Glasgow Half Marathon in October 2013 and the London Marathon in April 2014 .
