As many of you may know, my youngest daughter Jessica was born with a type of birthmark. It covers around 40% of her body and requires 6-monthly checks at hospital as there is a chance of the melanocytes in the affected skin becoming cancerous. 

Research into the causes and possible "cures" for these birthmarks currently costs around £45,000 per year and is carried out by Dr Veronica Kinsler at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Given the costs of funding the research I, and some other intrepid souls connected with the support group set up to assist those affected (CaringMattersNow), have agreed to climb Mt Kilimanjaro.

I cannot stress enough how grateful I would be to all of you for helping me "top-out", not just in terms of the funds raised but because without your support I will not be able to complete the climb.
