I have previously marshalled for the walk in 2009 and 2010 and it is a great event. As my mum passed away last October, I really wanted to participate in the walk this year to raise money for the amazing work carried out.

Even though they are more widely known for providing care to patients in the hospice environment, they also provide a huge amount of care, help and advice when at home.

The staff of the Ashford hospice were kind enough to provide medical care and practical support in the last year of my mum's life and also looked after her for three weeks during respite care.
