UPDATE 10-7-2013

So here I am 2 days before the start of this epic journey to raise money for Cancer Research.  Thank you all so much for getting me to nearly £1500.  It is incredible and it will certainly push me on to do this.

It would be fantastic to reach my target of £2000 so there is still time left.

All my training has been in freezing conditions, horizontal rain, and guess what?  This weekend is going to be wall to wall sunshine and 30C temperatures.  Great for sunbathing in, but not so great for cycling mountains in.

SEPTEMBER 2012

I will be trying to ride across England from coast to coast in July 2013. 

This is not any ordinary cycle ride though, this is totally off road mountain biking with a minimum of 195 miles from the west coast to the East cost of England.  We will start dipping our wheels in the Irish sea then head inland across the Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales and then the North Yorkshire Moors finishing off dipping the wheel and probably the bike in the North Sea.  It is like doing the London to Brighton bike ride, three days in a row, but through mud, gravel, tracks and of course huge hills with climbs of 2000m per day.

We will climb to nearly 1000m in some areas and will be in the saddle for a minimum of 7 hours per day.  This will be a test of fitness, endurance, hunger and worse of all saddle sore!!!

I have chosen Cancer Research as this disease has affected us all in some way, everyone knows someone who has been affected by it, whether themselves or a friend or family member.  I have lost some good friends by it and have also been inspired by how brave individuals are when they have it.  With more funding youcan all help battle this disease and make a change.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me achieve my target of £5000.
