Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust funds scientific and clinical research into childhood and adult brain tumours, and offers support and information to patients and their carers. We have been working to improve understanding, diagnosis and treatment of brain tumours since the charity was set up in 1996 by Samantha's parents, Neil and Angela Dickson. We now spend around £1.3 million per year on brain tumour research and support, making us the largest brain tumour charity in the UK.

Story

Andy, Rich, Umesh & Gary (a.k.a. Hodge, Bananaman, Umski & Gaffa) have decided to take part in this year’s Ramshackle Rally to Krakow. Let us explain:

The rules of the rally are simple: Buy an old banger for £100 or less, turn it into a cartoon racing car, get it to Calais for 3rd August, then drive it 1,500 miles in 4 days through 5 countries across 2 mountain ranges all the time staying 1 step ahead of the other 100 teams in the daily challenges. (www.ramshacklerally.com)

As if that wasn't crazy enough, we're so confident in our vehicle that we've decided to drive it all the way back again, taking in a few extra countries along the way.

Check out our progress on the car HERE.

Whilst this should be a lot of fun (assuming we don't break down in the middle of nowhere), we've decided to use this opportunity to raise money for the SDBTT Astro Fund.  The great news is that if we win the rally by taking part in the daily challenges and donate the prize money to our charity then the people at Ramshackle will add 50% to the prize fund.

Also, in recognition of the mighty fine job we've made of the car so far, we're going to auction it on eBay when we return and donate the proceeds to charity too.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust (Astro Fund) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Please note that all money raised through this site will go straight to charity - you will not be funding our trip!

So please sponsor us now!
