The Specsavers Children's Charity was formed in 2000 and since then has donated over £180,000 to needy and disadvantaged children in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The charity is run by staff in the Guernsey support office, in addition to their normal jobs, and is funded by donations and fundraising.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am a Guernsey musician who has taken on the challenge of a lifetime to help support 2 of my favourite charities as well as experiencing an adventure in one of the world's most inhospitable climates - The Sahara Desert!!

The challenge I am undertaking is the Marathon des Sables 2014, which is deemed by many as "The toughest footrace on the planet".  This challenge is a fully self sufficiant, multi-stage 250k ultra marathon across the Moroccan Sahara where I will be faced with sand dunes, salt plains, jabels (small mountains!) and other "lunar" type landscapes, all with a 10k backpack and a ration of water each day.
