Story

Salams all.

The ISOC at db is kicking off our official fundraising campaigns this year by looking to support the outstanding work that Al-Isharah are doing with a very forgotten area of our community, those with hearing difficulties.

Al-Isharah are a small UK education charity based right around the corner in East London. They actively work through various programs to make Islam accessible for the deaf Muslim community here.

Some of their pioneering work thus far include:

- Running the first Jummah Khutbah using only british sign language

- Offering of Islamic classes for adults and children with hearing difficulties

- Providing fully accessible Umrah trips every year for deaf muslims

We would like to focus our campaign to contribute to their current need, which is for their "Deaf Deen: A Fard Ayn Islamic Studies for Deaf Course". This course is specifically designed to clarify the fundamentals of the Islamic faith to give confidence in practicing and participating in Islam.

Please find more details of fantastic activities that Al-Isharah are involved in at: http://alisharah.com/ .

We encourage you all to show your generousity towards this humble organisation that is attempting to make a real difference in the local community that we all live in.

JazakAllah khair for your support.

The ISOC team.
