Alright,
You'll have probably noticed the signs around town saying the Strand and most of the dock road will be shut on the 21st June because of the Liverpool Triathlon. Well I have, and they've given me the kick up the arse I needed to finally get some sponsorship sorted (sorry it's short notice like).
The Tri will be taking place along Liverpool's waterfront, and I shall be attempting the Olympic distance. This comprises a 1500 metre open-water swim (in Queens Dock and Wapping), immediately followed by a 40k cycle (26 odd miles) and then a 10k run (6.5 mile, give or take). The average time for this distance according to the organiser's website is 2 hours 54 minutes, which I think is pretty bloody good! My target is to beat that, which explains why I've been training for so long (over 3 months!!).
If you're looking at this page, hopefully this means you're going to sponsor me, so thank you ever so much for doing so, it really does mean a lot to me. My chosen charity is Zoe's Place, which is a hospice for terminally ill babies since the NHS has no such facility. There is a bit more detail about this charity elsewhere on this page, but I assure you it is a worthy cause.
Justgiving.com is a well known and highly regarded website, and donating is quick, easy and totally secure. According to them (and they're bound to say this) it’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me, Zoe's Place Baby Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, they make sure 25% in Gift Aid and a 3% supplement are added to your donation. In truth, this website does take a commission, albeit a small one, so if you'd rather sponsor me with cash, let me know and I'll come round with a sponsorship form.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks,
Dillon
