Ride Romania aims to establish a centre for the Romanian deafblind. To help raise £40,000 towards the creation of that centre, I (John Pollet) and 14 others will be riding through rural Romania in June.

It is very, very hard to imagine being born or becoming both deaf and blind. 95% of what we learn about the world comes through sight and hearing, meaning that deafblind people face enormous challenges learning about the world around them and are often highly isolated and marginalised. The centre will provide education programmes and services to deafblind children, train local professionals to work with them and support networks of deafblind people, parents and teachers.
