Story
Hi there. For those of you who don’t know me my name is Dean Evans and I’m a young man in his twenties whose life was touched by somebody very special ….. my grandfather Brian Evans. Now you all may be thinking that everyone loves their grandfather and you’re correct, but none more so than me. Unfortunately I lost my grandfather at a very young age due to cancer. During his trials and tribulations with the disease he never admitted defeat and always remained positive. He continued to smile up until his very last day. This was aided by the care he was given from the lovely Macmillan nurses.
Now I believe that every family and cancer sufferer deserves, and more importantly, needs the help of Macmillan. Therefore, I will aim to raise a target of £3000 to aid the charity by completing the New York Marathon on November 6th 2011. A task I can tell you that will not be easy, but one I know I will complete thanks to the inspirational words my gramps once said to me …. " Dean you can do or be anything you want ….. if you want it bad enough."
My response to this now gramps, is I want people like yourselves and families like ours to continue to receive the support of Macmillan Cancer Care. I ask of anyone who has taken the time to read this page that if you can spare a donation, no matter how large or small, then I, Macmillan and cancer suffering families will be forever grateful.
Many thanks …………. Dean Evans x
