Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Blue Cross gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Did you know that vast amounts of rainforests in South East Asia are destroyed to clear way for palm oil plantations? All this for human consumption! In the past 20 years 80% of Orang-Utans habitat has disappeared. If the destruction continues at this rate one of man's closest relatives could sadly face extinction within the next 20 years.

Just recently an opportunity has been given to me to help with the conservation and research of the Orang-utans. A challenge has been set to trek the Borneo Jungle, 6-7 hours a day, taking 4 days to complete. We will set up a base camp and from there will trek into the forest every day to plant new saplings and collect information to aid with the research of this important project. However, I do need the support from all of you who feel this work is worth while. I have been asked to raise £3000 to take part in this challenge as well as contributing to the cost of my own funds.

I would appreciate any contribution large or small from those people who feel our animal kingdom is worth fighting for. I would also like to take this opportunity to tell you how amazing you are for making a conscious decision to help save a species that has no control over the mass destruction that is taking away their homes and in lots of cases leaving their children orphaned and without the comforts and security of their parent. This must be devastating for them. Please be generous so we can make a difference.

Thank You,

Debbie.
