iSightCornwall is Cornwall’s local, independent sight loss charity. Our team is ready to help everyone with sight loss, whether recent or longstanding, sudden or gradual. We’ll help you to understand your eye condition and provide you with practical support to continue doing the things you love.

Story

WOW it was sooooo amazing -We did it!!

Brave father and daughter duo Derek Lindsey & Debbie Henshaw challenged each other and others to join a team of fun-loving people, to put their best foot forward and run bare-foot across a burning bed of hot coals for Cornwall Blind Association.

It took place on the 20th March 2009, at 8.30pm in Events Square Falmouth.

The pair have a history of fundraising, this walk was defiantly the shortestand hottest to date!

“ If anyone else wants to take part or host any event - please call me on Tel: 01872 266709 Mob: 07966 845 321 or e-mail dhenshaw@cornwallblind.org.uk

The Cornwall Blind Association was set up to support tin miners who were injured and lost their sight more than 150 years ago. The Association now needs funds to provide existing services for an estimated 12,000 blind and partially sighted inCornwall.

Debbie said: "The money we raise will go towards things that will help to improve lives such as: providing benefits advice, Low Vision Clinics and Assesments, special gadgets and magnifiers. We offer counselling and befriending as well as a talking support service. We have a sensory room for children, we also organise holidays for children and adults resident in Cornwall with a visual impairement. As well as providing subsidised travel for those with sight loss in Cornwall. This along with 25 clubs is just the tip of what we provide - we would like to provide so much more to help improve lifes of visually impaired people in Cornwall and therefore we need your support.

Debbie & Derek are hoping others will join them in their hot-footed pursuit to take place in March 2009 at Falmouth’s Events Square (Outside the Maritime Museum).

We hope you will dig deep into your pockets and generously sponsor us!
