Hi,
My name is Debra, I am 41 years old and live in South Shields. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 23rd March 2004. After having chemotherapy, radiotherapy, numerous operations, reconstructive surgery and discovering I carry the BRCA2 gene I am now approaching the magic ‘five years’ since my diagnosis. To celebrate being alive I have decided to plan or take part in at least five activities throughout 2009 to support Cancer Connections, which is a local support group based in South Shields.
I am planning a ‘Silly Shoes’ night on Saturday March 21 at the New Crown, a 6.5 mile ‘Sunset Stroll’ on June 6 from Roker to the Marine Park, taking part in The 10km Great North Woman’s Run in July, and The Great North run in September and finally a charity night in October/November.
I would greatly appreciate ANY help, donations or sponsorship you could offer me for any of these events.
Many thanks
Debra Slesser.
