Alison Hobbs, Ruth Fountain, Naomi Yarwood, Rachel Keys and Ali Tonkin (AKA Deceptively Tall) are taking part in the Boston Marathon!!  After sitting at the start of the Gloucester Head, one cold and wet day, Deceptively Tall got bored and started the chat!  'wouldn't it be good to do the Boston Marathon?' Stupidly we all agreed and now we find ourselves weeks away from rowing a ridiculous amout of miles - 31 to be precise, and what makes it worse, is we have set ourselves a goal of completing this marathon in the course record!! 

Boston Marathon takes place on 21st September 2008 on the River Witham between Lincoln and Boston and covers 31 miles. We will be entering a womens Senior 2 coxed 4 which means the course record is 4 hours 31 mins and 23 secs! We hope to better this, but our primary aim is to complete the course in one piece (comfy seat pads have been ordered!)  We all felt that this was an ideal opportunity to raise a bit of money for charity and we decided on Headway, a charity which many people know, is close to one crew members heart.  For more information, why not visit their website - www.headway.org.uk  Its a worthy cause.
