Story

his Just Giving page is to raise money for a defibrillator to be put in Corbet Woods car park in memory of Joey McCoy.

Unfortunately Joey took his life up here in February 2023 and was found by a dog walker. Having a defibrillator in the car park might have been able to save Joey.

Joey was so full of life and joy and was described as lighting up the room and always having a smile on his face. He loved being outdoors and here was one of his favourite places. Joey was so caring and would always try and help others, when he found out one of his best friends Dylan Price tragically died from a hit and run Joey immediately set up a go fund me page to help raise money for Dylan’s mum Louise and family and with great success he raised £18,473.

A defibrillator in the car park in memory of Joey would mean that if anyone was to unfortunately need to use one then they wouldn’t have to drive up to Clive to get one. Corbet Woods is a rocky, muddy terrain with quite big drops and is very popular with hikers and can be tricky to navigate and get emergency services to certain points. I feel like a defibrillator can give someone a fighting chance whilst waiting for emergency services.
