A Message from Deio, Aled Gethin and Paul:
On the 12th of June 2010 the four of us are taking part in the Snowdonia Charity Challange to raise funds for the charity REGAIN, the only charitable organisation dedicated solely to improving the independence of individuals who have become paralysed as a result of a competitive sports injury. REGAIN help provide them with the specialist equipment they need to enable them to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.
The challenge is a major indurance event which starts and finishes in Llanberis. It includes a 40 mile bike race, climbing snowdon, and canoeing a course on Llyn Gwynant. We hope to finish the course in under 7 and a half hours. It is going to be one of the toughest challanges any of us have faced, but it's for a fantastic cause and we hope to raise way over our
target of £2000.
We've all had our successes and good memories out of various sports over the years, this is our chance to give something back. Ar y 12fed o Fehefin 2010 mae'r pedwar ohonom yn cymeryd rhan yn Her Elusennol Eryri yn Mehefin i godi pres i'r elusen REGAIN, sef yr unig elusen sydd yn canolbwyntio ar helpu unigolion sydd wedi cael eu 'paralysio' ar ol dioddef anaf o ganlyniad i chwaraeon cystadleuol. Mae REGAIN yn cyflenwi offer arbennigol sydd yn galluogi'r unigolion fod yn fwy anibynnol a gwella eu safonau byw.
Mae Her Eryri yn ras hir a chaled sydd yn dechrau a gorffen yn Llanberis, mae'n cynnwys ras feicio 40 milltir, dringo'r Wyddfa, a chanwio cwrs ar Llyn Gwynant. Rydym yn gobeithio cwblhau y cwrs mewn llai na 7 awr a hanner. Mae yn mynd i fod yn un o'r sialensau anodda mae unrhyw un ohonom wedi ei wneud erioed, ond mae ar gyfer elusen arbennig iawn a rydym yn gobeithio casglu yn bell dros y targed o £2000.
Mae'r pedwar ohonom wedi cael llwyddiant a phrofiadau da drwy chwaraeon dros y blynyddoedd, dyma ein cyfle ni i roi rhywbeth yn ol.
