UPDATE: 13th October - I (Simon) am IN DELHI!!!!!!!!! Now I deserve your donations, surely??

Visit www.delhibikechallenge2009.com for updates!

The background...

On 9th September, we (Simon & Richard) left Weston-super-Mare on our motorbikes.  Our destination is New Delhi, India, and the distance will be around 8,000 miles. Richard's riding his Indian-built domestic model Royal Enfield 'back home', and I'll be on my 650 Transalp.

We are paying all our own expenses for the trip, so anything you donate will go directly to Asha, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of slum dwellers in Delhi (you can learn all about their work at www.asha-india.org). We're aiming to raise a pound per mile and would be overjoyed to reach this target.

As much as we both like riding motorbikes, we're pretty sure that it won't always be easy, especially given recent events on our proposed route. So, please sponsor us - every donation will help!

We've got our own website up and running with some more information about our trip and our fundraising, so take a look and learn more: www.delhibikechallenge2009.com.  We'll update the website whenever possible as we're en route to Delhi.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Friends Of Asha (Gb) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
