<p>My 2012 cycle challenge will be my hardest yet. &nbsp;On Saturday 17 June 2012 I will be racing the sun!! &nbsp;Setting off from Sunderland on the East Coast I will aim to race the sun to Whitehaven in the west, before it sets!! &nbsp;140 miles across some of the hilliest terrain in the country. &nbsp;The winds usually blow west to east too, so chances are it could be against the wind too. &nbsp;Training has started.....</p> <p>I have also been partaking in other cycle challenges over the last few months, In September 2011 I took part in the London to Brighton ride. I will also be partaking in London Nightrider in 2012.</p> <p>As with previous years, I will be cycling in 2012 in memory of my daughter Melissa, who sadly died in May 2008, nine months after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Since she passed away over &pound;17,000 has been raised in her memory, a phenominal amount and Julie, Becky and I can't thank you enough for all your generousity.</p> <p>Lymphoma is the 5th most common cancer in the UK. It is the most common in the under 30s age group.
