Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

On 13th September 2009 I will be setting off from Hull on one of 10 boats competing in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.  It's the only race of it's kind that allows complete amateurs to take part - and believe me, they don't come anymore amateur than me!

It's going to be a huge 10 month challenge for me but I know I'll also have the most amazing time of my life. I wanted to make something that will be such a big part of my life count for something more and so I'm using it to try and raise money for 3 charities - DebRA, The World Land Trust and the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer. The race will take me across 35,000 so it's my personal aim to raise £1 for every mile I sail betwen the 3 charities.  My challenge is to raise the cash before I finish sailing the miles, so it's a race against a race.....why face one huge challenge when you can set yourself two?!!!

Please Donate whatever you can - The World Land Trust does invaluable work to preserve key natural habitats and the endangered species living there.  Without Organisations like this we really are in danger of many more species becoming extinct - not just from the animal and bird kingdom but from the plant world too, many of which we are discovering may hold the cure to modern diseases.

All the money raised through this page will go towards increasing the area around The Tapichalaca Reserve in Ecquador. The Christopher Parsons Reserve is also in this area and was named after my father who died in November 2002.  Dad was a huge supporter of the World Land Trust, so I feel it is fitting that I use my journey around the world, the Natural World he loved so much, to raise funds for a cause so close to his heart.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: World Land Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Thank you

Della x
