Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

AngelmanUK is a United Kingdom based support group for those affected by the rare genetic condition Angelman Syndome (AS). A diagnosis of AS will have life changing consequences and we are there to help families cope. We also advise medical and care professionals dealing with this rare condition.

Story

Bonjour a tous,

well i have done it (in 5h 4 min) . I will keep amazing memories from that day from the fellow runners , the great crowd  and a great city of London under the sun. I jogged among the wombles , rhinos, 3 legged men, a woman on stilts, got blessed by priest on the way and achieved something amazing for myself and hopefully will make a small difference in the lifes of families that Samuel.'s....thank you to all for your generous donations and great support.

If you haven't donated yet, it is not too late, money will be accepted on this website until July....

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Assert gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

A bientot   Delphine

Now a word from Samuel's inspiring family.....

Samuel is 6 years old and has Angelman Syndrome.  He has severe physical and learning disabilities, epilepsy, a sleep disorder, scoliosis and cannot talk, amongst many other problems.  He needs support in all aspects of his life and 24 hour care, but he is a gorgeous smiley little boy with an amazing sense of humour and a very infectious laugh.

We are so pleased that Delphine is running the marathon for Samuel.  ASSERT is an excellent support group with a network of people with hands on experience and a wealth of knowledge on this rare condition.  We have turned to them on many occasions to get support/information that is difficult to find elsewhere.  It is run by volunteers, but desperately needs money to keep going each year.  It is a valuable and essential lifeline to families like ours with an Angelman child, so if you could please give whatever you can spare, we would be really grateful.

Many thanks

Amelia & John Coffen
