We are cycling from Montpellier in France to Rome in mid-May 2009. As a team of 3 riders, we are raising money for Tuberous Sclerosis, the Wessex Neurological Centre's 'Smile4Rich' Appeal, and Alzheimer's Society. Our minimum team target is £6,000 (approximately 6,500 Euros / 8,500 US Dollars).

.

Who are we? - Derek Noble: riding for Tuberous Sclerosis Association - Trevor Biddle & Paul Wheatley. The plan is to cycle the 750 miles (1200 km) from Montpellier in the south of France to Rome to raise money for very good causes, close to our hearts.

.

My youngest daughter, Hannah (15), has Tuberous Sclerosis. She was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis at six years old, after we had noticed a rash on her face. Once referred to a specialist, she then underwent many tests and hospital visits, including 2 MRIs and an ECG to confirm that she did in fact have TS. However, she leads a normal, healthy life (her epilepsy – one of the symptoms of TS – is controlled by medication), but we are now very well aware of the condition and wish to bring it more and more to people's attention. She thinks her dad is mad for undertaking this ride!

.

We are setting out on May 20th and plan to arrive in Rome on May 27th 2009. We have our own website: http://www.bike4charity.org.uk/

for updates on our preparation and progress as we start the route, etc.

.

Many thanks for your support – and please sponsor me now!
