Story

Last year I visited Sierra Leone with CAFOD and met some remarkable people who are working really hard to build a better future for themselves after 10 years of civil war. I've decided to do my bit to help by sticking on the old shorts and running the Great North Run to raise money for CAFOD.

You can support my efforts by sponsoring me online now!

To give you an idea of what your sponsorship money could buy:

£10 could buy 200 fish to stock a village pond in rural Colombia, supplementing people's dietary needs.

£20 could buy a sewing machine & start-up kit for a tailoring graduate in Sierra Leone. £50 could pay the salary of a community health worker in Nigeria for one year. £100 could provide counselling and support to a family in Tanzania so that they can care for a family member living with HIV/AIDS. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CAFOD will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Many thanks for your support. Dermot x
