My personal message:

Ok here's the deal I am going to be running (a lot) over the next 12 months or so and you, because you are either impressed or think I'm an idiot donate money to a very worthy cause.

Between now and April 2009 I will be competing in the following events:

Asics Breakfast Half Marathon

Flora London Marathon

Wycombe Half Marathon

Valencia Half Marathon

London to Brighton Offroad 56 mile race

Thames Meander 54 mile race

Marathon de Sables 150 mile race

The culmination of my endeavours will be the Marathon de Sables. Billed as the toughest foot race in the world, competitors race 150 miles across the Sahara Desert in temperatures of 100 degress + in 5 1/2 days. Competitors must be 100% self sufficient carrying their food, water, sleeping bag, survival kit and lots of sunblock.

So, before I come to my senses and realise just how stupid this all is I suggest you start pledging some money to a very, very worthy cause.

Who am I raising money for..........

Roxburghe House has been purpose built to meet the needs of patients requiring Specialist Palliative Care.

Palliative care aims to achieve the best possible quality of life for patients and their families or carers by:

  • Controlling pain and other distressing symptoms

  • Helping patients and families cope with the emotional upset and practical problems of the situation

  • Helping people to deal with spiritual questions which may arise from their illness

  • Helping people to live as actively as possible despite their illness

  • Supporting families and friends in their bereavement

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Friends Of Roxburghe House Grampian will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
