Story

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 11.5pt;">As a school Canoe club, we hope to enter 4 crews of two boys into the Devizes to Westminster 125 mile international canoeing and kayaking marathon. The race spans over 4 days, starting on the 22nd of April, and promises to be an exciting yet grueling event.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 11.5pt;">We train twice a week for two and a half hours, and we will also be partaking in extra weekend training sessions in the weeks running up to the major race. However to even make it that far we must complete four qualifying races in the waterside series, with a cumulative distance of 89 miles.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 11.5pt;">We would very much like our efforts to contribute to some good causes, above that of our own fitness, so we have chosen to support The Rifles Regiment Trust and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Charity.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 11.5pt;">We chose to support The Rifles Regiment Trust, as a number of the boys have close ties to the armed forces, and the school charity committee is currently coordinating efforts to support them. We also chose Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, as these forms of cancer have had dramatic impact both within our school and personal lives.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 11.5pt;">The crews are:

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 11.5pt;">George Ledward & James Wood

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 11.5pt;">Adam Longstaff & Cullum Welch

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black; font-size: 11.5pt;">Charles Campbell-Grey & William Steinmeyer

Adrian Kay & Leo Tsui
