Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year Shantisthana and I were fortunate enough to spend time with over 500 people on a Buddhist  Meditation Retreat at the 'Urgyen Shangharakshita Meditation Centre', out in the countryside near Nanded in Maharashtra, India. They were from the poorest communities in India and, but for generous donations collected by Dhammachari Ashvajit for the Dhammaloka Charity they would not have been able to attend. I experienced first hand what a joyful experience it was for them, as it was for me. They have great devotion to the Buddha Sakyamuni, Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Bhante Sangharakshita and together with this, a great thirst for the Dhamma. For many it would have been a rare opportunity to travel outside of their home village and also a rare and life changing opportunity to hear the Dhamma; something for which they express tremendous gratitude. This year I am appealing for funds for another retreat, which Shantisthana and I are leading with Chandrabodhi, to be held over the Diwali holiday in November. Please give generously; the more I collect the more people can attend.
