Red Nose Meditation Marathon · 2 March 2015

Since its launch in 1988, Red Nose Day has become a British institution. It’s a time when people across the country get together and fundraise at home, school and work to support people living incredibly tough lives, and has raised over £1.3 billion to date.

Story

From Monday 2nd till Friday the 13th of March, The Dharma Primary School is on a Red Nose Meditation Marathon!

In the entrance hall of our school is a huge paper measuring jug. We need to fill this with meditation time!

The jug is made of squared paper. We will fill a square for every minute meditated.

Now for the mathematics!

If Sunflower & Dragonfly class meditate for 1 minute each day for 10 days,

If Mountain class meditate for 5 minutes each day for 10 days,

If Ocean class meditate for 10 minutes each day for 10 days,

If Lotus class meditate for 15 minutes each day for 10 days,

If Staff mediate for 20 minutes each day for 10 days,

this would mean the school community had meditated for 9,430 minutes. That’s nearly 158 hours or around 6 ½ days!

Our target is to fill our paper measuring jug with 9,600 squares before Friday the thirteenth of March.
