We are both joining 4 of our RBS colleagues to cycle from John O'Groats to Lands End, a distance of over 1,000 miles, visiting four Operations centres on the way. The purpose of this is to make a real and positive impact on the communities in which we operate, promote healthy living, demonstrate a focus on the well-being of our people around the world and to encourage collaborative working in Group Operations.

On the way, we hope to raise some money for Spinal Injuries Scotland. In 2010 David's brother in law Ian was involved in an accident that left him with a broken back and unable to walk again. Ian was in the Southern General Hospital for over 6 months and this charity really helped him adjust to his new lift. Through the provision of special sport and social activities they have helped him adjust back into society and adapt to his new surroundings both physically and mentally. Although he is out of hospital, the charity continues to support him in his new life.
