My story

Thanks for visiting my page.  Those of us who work with Guildford YMCA are trying to raise awareness about the increasing number of young lives in and around Guildford who are blighted by homelessness.

Guildford Y is committed to tackling this problem head on, by helping and supporting homeless and vulnerable young people in the area.

But to do this, we do need your support - so if you can, please give generously to our Sleep £asy campaign prior to Homelessness Sunday on 1st February 2009.

On 31 Jan 09, I'll be sleeping rough at Guildford Cathedral to both highlight the plight of young homeless people and to raise money for Guildford YMCA's Life Change Fund.

Guildford YMCA not only provides accommodation for a growing number of young homeless people, many under 18 years of age, but also supports them in developing their lifeskills, accessing training and obtaining employment.

Any donation - no matter how small - will help us in our work.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Guildford YMCA Limited gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!  Don't forget every donation no matter how small will help the young homeless.

Many thanks, Derek
