Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in memory of my father Dick Hatch.
Dick suffered a devastating stroke on Jan 7th 2007. It took him from a man of action and words to a shell of his former self. He was well looked after and died peacefully, surrounded by his family on April 20th, 2012.
My husband Paul and I have been raising money for the Stroke Association by taking part in their Thames Bridges Cycling challenge since 2009. At the end of last year we decided to step it up and take on the challenge of the London to Paris ride this September.
This is a 3 day, 234 mile (day 1=71 miles, day 2=63 miles, day 3=100 miles miles) ride via Portsmouth and Caen ending on the Champs Elysees. (For info we have contributed the cost of our ferry/accommodation etc so that everything donated here goes straight to the Stroke Association and their work to prevent and treat strokes.)
Now for the official stuff!: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please do leave a tribute to Dad if you would like.
Thanks very much for your support. It is much appreciated by all Dick's family
Liz (nee Hatch) and Paul MacNiven
