Great North Run 2010 · 19 September 2010 ·

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock, intruder alarms and baby monitors. These amazing dogs also help deaf people to leave loneliness behind by providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Story

I am running the Great North Run in September. For those of you who don't know Scooby, he is my rather bouncy, lively and manic Black Labrador/ Border Collie. He was also brought up and trained to be a "Hearing Dog for a Deaf Person". Unfortunately, he wasn't quite up to the task and therefore became one of their "Fallen Angels". I then re-homed him after a 6 month waiting list, and through this time I have researched and got to know the amazing work that is being done by this company "Hearing Dogs for Deaf People". They are often overlooked and overshadowed by Guide Dogs for the Blind, so I thought this an amazing opportunity to raise some money to train these amazing dogs and help with the equipment funds needed. Check them out of www.hearingdogs.org.uk.

Please help me in reaching and improving on my target amount of £500!

Thank you all so much
