Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock, intruder alarms and baby monitors. These amazing dogs also help deaf people to leave loneliness behind by providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Story

Hadrian's Wall update - They've done it!!  Helen and Digger completed this gruelling walk yesterday afternoon after 5 days of slog, spectaular scenery and blisters! Well done to both of them.  They managed to run the last two miles in the pouring rain to finish the walk at Bowness.  What a great achievement.

This fundraising page has been set up by me on behalf of Digger, my 3 year old labrador, who is to walk (or run and chase balls more likely) from coast to coast (Newcastle to Bowness) following Hadrian's Wall - 84 miles over 5 days .

He is not doing this alone (he is not that clever!) but is accompanying my friend Helen who is walking and raising funds for Cancer Research and the Brooke Hospital.  I thought as Digger was completing the walk as well as Helen that he should be raising funds in his own right.  Hearing Dogs was a suitable dog related charity which does such marvelous work.

DIgger and Helen set out on their walk on September 9th.  Hopefully the weather will be kind to them and they will both have a fantastic time as well as raising lots of money.

Please dig deep and sponsor Digger online.  Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Hearing Dogs For Deaf People will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor Digger now!

Many woofs for your support.

Ann and Digger
