Dear friends
This year it is more important than ever that we raise as much money as possible on Laura's Butterfly Walk 2009 around Richmond Park on Sunday 31 May. Thanks to everyone last year we raised a total of £7,000 for the Fund - and have been able to help more young people with the costs of their training to becomes actors. It has often made the difference of their being able to complete their studies or having to leave part way through them.
The aim of the Fund, set up after Laura’s tragic accident six years ago by her mother Sonya, is to provide practical and financial support to give young actors and actresses the opportunity to realise their dreams. Some of those students being helped now are making their professional stage debut in West End shows such as The Sound of Music, Billy Elliot, The Lion King and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
To date the Fund has helped some 30 young people (some of whom you can see in the photo opposite). Awards have gone to students from the Sylvia Young Theatre School, The Bridge, RADA, LAMDA, the Italia Conti and for special educational projects at The Factory. Awards range from £250 to £5,000.
As you know I am a Trustee of the Fund, and I know that every little amount helps someone. Do please sponsor me again - or even better - come and join us.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Laura Sadler Memorial Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Huge thank yous!
Dinah
