Firstly, thanks to everyone who has found the time to contribute via this site, or off-line in person, it is very much appreciated and again from some folks not seen in many a long recent year.

THE WRITE-UP:

The event was back in 18th November and whilst this page will be accepting donations until the 18th February, the total to be able to qualify for Abbey doubling will need to be done by Wednesday 11th February.

In terms of the write-up, which is long overdue, the play from all the teams was very variable this year, with every team struggling to maintain worthwhile and repeatable match winning form! As a result we won against teams we'd previously been beaten by in the group games and vice-versa, all of which created a strange semi-final and final.

Thankfully and slightly bizarrely though it was the same for everyone - we got knocked out in the semis, so again another good effort and with not too many serious aches and pains afterwards - thought for 2009 if it happens - consistency of quality is the key!

The Road To LORDS - November 2008, is a huge test of mental and physical stamina, of desire, determination and a tenacious will to reach for a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy!

***!!! STOP PRESS !!!*** - after Abbey Match doubling and Gift Aid is added, at the last update, we have all currently raised £4,879.80 - how fantastic is that - Many Thanks to all those who have played a part thus far.

PRE-MATCH TRAINING:

This year, in a break from recent tradition, the squad will be making the journey to Lord's the morning of the competition - the hope is to stay down afterwards having done something worth celebrating - usually a sombre occasion!
