My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I got very inspired watching last year's event and decided to enter the 2012 Brighton Marathon. Training is going well and I'm aiming for a sub 4hr time. Having always been in awe of the work the Martlets does I've decided to run for them - so please dig deep and donate now.

My charity

The Martlets Hospice

The Martlets Hospice

Charity Registration No. 802145

The Martlets Hospice provides end of life care for adults with a life limiting disease such as Motor Neuron Disease and Cancer where a cure is no longer possible. This care aims to relieve the symptoms associated with serious illness and includes emotional support for families and carers of patients through the illness and into bereavement. Our facilities and services include an 18-bedded inpatient unit, bereavement and counselling services and a Hospice @ Home service. We help 500 patients each year and help around 1000 local families. Hospice care is completely free of charge to patients and families – but of course it is not free to provide. The Hospice is a local independent charity and relies upon the generosity of its users and all sections of the community to fund patient care.
