Story

Hello

As you may have heard, I am going to be racing across the Atlantic next year from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Belfast as Part of the Tall Ships race 2009! I will be sailing on Rona 2, a 68 foot Ketch, which is part of the Rona Trust. But who is the Rona Trust I hear you ask.

The Rona Trust is a sailing charity which was established in 1960 by Lord Amory, with Commander Walter Scott as the first Organiser.  "our aim is to provide (through the medium of sea training in offshore craft) opportunities for young people and people with disabilities to acquire those attributes of a seaman, namely; a sense of responsibility, resourcefulness and team-work, which will help them throughout their lives".

The Tall Ships Race is organised every year by Sail Training International and more information about the race can be found at www.tallshipsraces.com/atlanticchallenge

BUT

To do this I need your help! I have to raise £1400 for the Rona Trust. I will be doing many events in the next few months so please sponsor me below!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Rona Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
