Story
We are supporting the Calabash Trust UK which is affiliated to our school (Reed’s School). This charity looks to develop schools and empower children of the townships of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. For the last seven years, pupils of Reed’s have visited different primary schools in the area and have helped to develop playing fields, netball courts, libraries, vegetable gardens and delivered teaching workshops to the disadvantaged children of the townships. Last year, we were both lucky enough to go to South Africa and had the experience of a lifetime helping these children! Although we are not taking part in the trip this year, we realised how much of a difference it is possible to make to improve peoples' lives and we would like to continue supporting this worthy charity.
After our success last year cycling to Paris, we plan to cycle to Rome in 13 days, covering roughly 1,400km in the process, which will involve the not inconsiderable challenge of going over alpine passes such as the Petit Saint Bernard!
None of the money raised will fund any part of the cycle trip to Rome and all donations will go directly to the Calabash Trust.
All donations are very welcome! For more information about the charity please see: http://www.calabashtrust.co.za/
Many Thanks for your support.
