Story
At the end of September, a childhood friend Max Lowry died suddenly, for no apparent reason. He was 34 and in good health. He was the sort of guy who made everyone smile. An amazing character. Artist, singer, impressario. I am running the marathon to help me deal with an unexplainable event that goes against all forces of nature, and to help raise money for a cause that both invests in research into Sudden Death Syndrome, and counsels those who have to suffer most from it. The charity is called CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). I am also, selfishly, running it to change myself, to recoup the benefits, not just aesthetic, that I found from running my last Marathon in 2006.
Please donate. This is a charity with low profile. You have probably never heard of it. But it is helping people dealing with a horrible event. And trying to reduce its occurence.
