Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thank-you for visiting our fundraising page.

When I turned 40 last September, I had a mid-life crisis and believed my life-long ambition of running the London Marathon would be the solution.  It wasn't the solution I was looking for but with the support of Liz David, I made the commitment and we're now well into our training program!  We were keen to support the Stroke Foundation as our charity as we have both lost close relatives through strokes in recent years.

As you can see from the photo, I am becoming even more of a finely-tuned athlete than I ever was.  Although I came 2395th out of 2400 in the Watford Half-Marathon, I did win the "All those born on 4th September 1968 Category".  The chap on the right was definitely the fastest 75 year old man I have ever seen and he only just beat me!

Thank you for sponsoring us; we are both extremely grateful for your support.
