Dominic's Second Birthday is fast approaching, and it's a milestone that earlier this year I didn't think we'd be lucky enough to celebrate. It is thanks to the Evelina's superb care and a very special consultant that Dominic is alive and well today. We are so, so lucky that he pulled through despite his prognosis being so poor.

The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Evelina helped Dominic survive severe aspiration pneumonia in both lungs, acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis and a collapsed lung. I owe them his life, and would be very grateful to anyone who can donate just a little instead of buying him a birthday present this year. He has some little things to open so won't feel deprived!
